Well, I had to stay home with our little man Tuesday - Friday because he has been sick. Jayce is normally a pretty pleasant child to be around, but not so much the last week. He has another tooth coming in (bottom second on the right), has a bad cough, fever, and sore throat... He has been waking up about every 1/2 to hour every night all night long for the last week. He is even throwing fits and screaming for hours at night. Pat and I are absolutely exhausted and are getting pretty frustrated at this point. We feel so bad that he is sick and doesn't feel well, and mad that there isn't much we can do for him. We took him to the doctor on Thursday. They tested him for RSV, Influenza, Ear Infections... all that came back negative. They said he just has a virus, and needs to let it take its course. All Jayce does is sleep and cry all day long. So all I do is hold him, feed him, and let him sleep. God forbid I put him down for a few minutes, he just fallows me around wining and crying at my feet. After several days with high fevers and everything else, we decide to take him in to the doctor again on Saturday morning. Of course we just have to see what ever doctor is on call, so we have to re-explain everything to them. This doctor, says the same thing, it's just a virus. But she did prescribe and nebulizer to help with his breathing. So we've been trying to give him the breathing treatments every 4 hours, except at night. I think they have helped. Sunday Jayce seemed to be doing better, he had a little bit more energy, no fever. Last night was pretty bad. We put him t bed at 7:45 and he was up and screaming by 9:45... He cried and screamed until about 1:00am when he finally cried himself to sleep. After trying for hours to rock him, and comfort him we finally put him in his crib and let him cry. It was so hard. I think we maybe got a couple hours of sleep.
This morning I decided we had to try and go to work and take him to daycare.. So that is what we did. He is definitely getting better, but nights seem to be bad for him. We will see if I have to pick him up from daycare early or not today????

- Patrick and I have been dating since 1999. We were high school sweethearts. We were married on September 4th, 2005 and officially became Patrick and Crystal Johanson. We have been living in Bozeman, Montana since Patrick graduated in 2005. I work for an Interior Design firm doing what I enjoy. Patrick has his Master's in Architecture and is working on getting his license. We bought our first house in April of 2006. We love it here, but miss our friends and family back in Washington dearly. We hope one day to move closer to home again. We were lucky enough to find out we were expecting a baby on our 2 year wedding anniversary ironically. Pat and I were so excited when we found out, and a little nervous =). Jayce Keith Johanson arrived a little early on April 26th, 2008. He weighed 7lbs 7.7 ounces, and was 20" long. It is so hard to believe how fast time goes. We are loving everything about being parents and watching our little man grow. We also have 2 cats Bridger and Harley who will always be our first babies.

I had to comment, and I meant to do it earlier but the day got away from me.
I hope that everything is getting better. It's so hard when they're sick because you really can't do anything about it, and it's not like they can tell you what hurts or what's wrong.
It's also hard because you get used to their schedule and being sick throws everything off. Chris and I have to be really careful not to take it out on each other, because we know we can't take it out on him, but of course the lack of sleep/support puts you extremely on edge.
Just know that I'm thinking about you and Jayce and sending get well thoughts your way. This won't be the last time you go through this, but you'll get through it and learn a little bit every time!
